This is the first page members see in your Online Community.
It has:
- community-based reminders and news
- sophisticated member surveys
- weather conditions and forecasts
- various news feeds
- today's calendar and tasks
- tips on how to use your Online Community
- stock information
The primary purpose of this page is to give your members an overview of the organization, their schedules, and the world.
Not only is your Online Community easy to use, but it is also easy to administer.
By filling in simple web-based forms, you can maintain the content in your Online Community and view various reports.
Your Online Community can, optionally, display a series of banner ads along the right-hand side of the desktop.
The beauty of this system is that:
- You control the advertising.
You display your own vendors, partners, or affiliate links.
- You keep all the advertising revenue.
- You can turn off advertising altogether.
In a corporate environment, advertising may not be appropriate at all.
For associations or certain types of businesses (such as Real Estate Brokers), you can use advertising to help offset your costs and even pay for your Online Community altogether.
See who else is logged in to your Online Community.
Chat live (in "real-time") with the whole group or startup a private conversation (instant messaging).
The standard package includes a link to your electronic forms (i.e. Adobe Acrobat forms).
Options include digitizing your paper-based forms,
including a place to categorize and host your electronic forms,
making your forms interactive (fill them out electronically rather than printing them and filling them out by hand),
making your forms read-from and save-to a database,
making your forms interact with the digital assistant (see below),
and including workflow rules for form submittal and approval.
The Digital Assistant helps you organize your Calendars, Contacts, Notes, and Tasks.
Not only can you include your personal information here, but you can also overlay Community-based calendars and contacts.
This allows you to publish a calendar for all your members and keep them up to date on important contact information.
You also have the ability to synchronize your online Contacts, Notes, and Tasks (Calendars will be available soon) with Microsoft Outlook®.
All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy.
To that end, your Online Community can include a few online games.
Of course, you don't have to include this feature if you don't want to.
Publish documents (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, graphics, etc...) for your members to use (10 megabytes of space is included in the standard package).
You can categorize documents in a series of folders and sub-folders, and you can assign upload permissions for each specific folder.
Each member can setup three POP mail servers from which he or she can check email.
That means you can view your emails for up to three different email accounts all in one place.
You can also send new email messages and reply to incoming emails.
You can create events and publish a series of photos associated with those events for your Online Community members.
For instance, you can publish photos of:
- Holiday parties
- Properties
- Maps
- Logos
- and more...
Do you save web-sites to the favorites list in your web browser?
Do you ever wish that list was accessible from somewhere else on someone else's computer?
Now you can create and categorize a list of favorites within your Online Community and access them anywhere you go.
Learn how to negotiate sales, manage people, use your computer and the software you have installed on it, and more.
This feature contains links to various training web sites, as well as any specific training web sites your organization may use.
WebToolset also creates online training (see Learning Real Estate), and we can work with you to help create customized training for your organization.
Categorize and publish links to various web sites related to your organization or industry.
For instance, you can publish links to:
- Customers
- Approved Vendors
- Partners
- Industry Reports
- and more...
Allow anyone in your Online Community to quickly locate contact information about other members.
Message Boards (also referred to as Forums) allow you to post messages on various topics and create a "threaded discussion" over time.
For instance, you can create a discussion on Sales Methods and Tips, and your members can post and discuss their experiences.
This is a great way to build knowledge sharing over time throughout your organization.
You can restrict member profile changes (allowing only administrators to make changes) or you can implement the My Profile feature.
This feature allows individual members to maintain their contact information (and passwords) within your Online Community.
You can create multiple projects within your Online Community and use the Projects feature to:
- track expense reports
- manage issues and track bugs
- track time sheets
Reports can be run across all projects (i.e. John Smith's overall time sheet for last week)
or project managers can view reports by project (i.e. John Smith's time sheet for project 0001-A for last week).
WebToolset can also help you implement custom project features such as document workflow and Microsoft Project Central® integration.
Members can create and track a list of stock symbols in which they are interested.
These stock symbols and their prices scroll across the "stock bar" at the bottom of the desktop.
This feature contains links to various travel agencies and travel related web sites.
Don't forget, you are not stuck with a static list of features.
WebToolset is constantly updating and improving the Online Communities, and we can help implement custom features specifically for your organization.
